Preview:

The Brisbane Broncos and Wests Tigers are both coming into this round five clash on the back of two straight losses and will be desperate to stop the rot when they clash on Thursday night. The Broncos have lost Tevita Pangai Junior to suspension this week, with debutant Patrick Carrigan to make his debut off the bench. Two players recently embroiled in off-field controversy, Payne Haas and James Roberts have been named in the reserves. Russell Packer gets the start in the pack for Michael Maguire’s Tigers after a one-point loss to Penrith last weekend, with Josh Aloiai promoted to the starting side, moving Elijah Taylor to the pine. This fixture has been dominated by the Broncos in recent times, with the Queenslanders winning 8 of the past 9 against Wests. The Tigers lone win in that time came in 2016 by just one point. The Broncos are coming off a 32-point drubbing a week ago and The Wolf isn’t about to back them in as favourites against a Tigers team that is giving up just 11 points a game this season.
