Brisbane’s Hodges passed fit to face Storm

Brisbane centre Justin Hodges has passed a late fitness test on his injured hamstring and will take his place against Melbourne in their Good Friday NRL clash at Suncorp Stadium.

And in a late twist, the Queensland and Australian centre could play some of the match from fullback.

Hodges has been dogged by a hamstring injury but ran freely at training at Red Hill on Thursday morning, indicating he will line up against the unbeaten Storm.

Brisbane coach Anthony Griffin, who is yet to win against Storm coach Craig Bellamy in four encounters, confirmed Hodges could bob up at fullback in attack during the game.

The Broncos have struggled to post points in their opening three games of the season and failed to score a single point against the Roosters last week with Hodges on the sidelines.

Brisbane face a daunting three-game character test, with Friday’s Storm challenge followed by games against Queensland rivals Gold Coast and North Queensland.
