Brisbane’s Pangai cops five-week NRL ban

Brisbane’s Tevita Pangai has copped a five-week ban from the NRL judiciary after failing to have his crusher tackle charge downgraded.

He opted to front the judiciary on Tuesday night after being hit with a grade-two dangerous contact charge for his tackle on Penrith’s James Maloney in round 22.

Pangai will only play again this year if Brisbane – sitting seventh on the ladder – make the preliminary final.
