Forwards Jesse Bromwich and Dale Finucane have been announced as the new Melbourne vice-captains, with one set to replace Cameron Smith when the Storm skipper eventually retires.
Storm coach Craig Bellamy said they wanted to lighten Smith’s captaincy load this season and give others a taste of his duties before he calls time at the end of 2020.
Bellamy said either Bromwich or Finucane would take over and he didn’t want to throw them in the deep end.
