The NRL is set to start its season with a thrilling Las Vegas double-header.

The Canberra Raiders will face the New Zealand Warriors at Allegiant Stadium.

Both teams are keen to bounce back after missing the finals in 2024, although neither is expected to make the top eight come September.

The Warriors have shaken up their halves combination with Luke Metcalf moving to halfback, replacing Shaun Johnson, and Chanel Harris-Tavita stepping into five-eighth.

They’ve added four-time premiership-winning prop James Fisher-Harris to the forward pack, with Erin Clark returning to play lock.

The Raiders, in contrast, enter the season healthy, with Zac Hosking included in the squad.

Ricky Stuart has named two debutants: Savelio Tamale on the wing for just his second NRL game and Owen Pattie making his debut from the bench.
