Canberra Raiders vs Penrith Panthers 2013 NRL Round 14 preview and tips

Canberra returned to the winner’s stall with a victory over Brisbane on Monday night by twelve points.

Leading at half-time 24-0, the end margin should have been a lot more and their second half performances in general, are something the Raiders need to address if they are to maintain their position in the top eight (currently eighth).

One win behind them on the ladder are the Panthers who, having won three on the trot leading into last week’s game, were surprisingly defeated by the West Tigers 20-18.

It will serve as a wake up call for the Panthers but, as most teams do this time of year regardless of their form, will find the trip to Canberra at in the middle of winter a tough one.

The Raiders hold a 5-1 record at home this season and although coming off a relative quick back-up, at home should prove too strong.

The Panthers will be keen to bounce back after last week’s loss to the form that saw them account for Melbourne and St. George.

Head to Head in recent years the honours have been split but more often then not when these two sides meet, plenty of points have been scored with only once in the past eight games resulting in a total point score of less than 37 points.
