Canterbury will be aiming to start a season 2-0 for the first time since 2016 when they face Gold Coast this weekend, with the Titans kicking off their campaign after sitting out Round 1 with a bye. The Bulldogs survived a nervy finish last week, edging out the Dragons 28-20 after leading 28-6, with new recruit Sitili Tupouniua impressing with a second-half double. Jacob Preston’s standout performances are making him a player to watch, while Connor Tracey has settled in well at fullback. Josh Curran returns from suspension, adding further strength to an already impressive side.

Gold Coast, meanwhile, faces a tough challenge as they aim to improve on their disappointing 14th-place finish in 2024. Despite their attacking flair, defence remains a major issue, with the Titans conceding over 27 points a game last season.
