Fisher-Harris injured, out of Kiwi Tests

Penrith prop James Fisher-Harris will miss New Zealand’s end-of-year Tests and his Panthers’ NRL pre-season is in tatters after he tore his pectoral muscle.

Fisher-Harris was injured while training in the gym at Penrith this week, scans then confirmed the extent of the damage.

The injury will rule him out for four months, meaning he will only return to full training just weeks out from the beginning of the 2020 NRL season.

The 23-year-old was one of the Panthers’ best this season, averaging more than 100 metres per match. He also had 24 tackle busts during the season.

Fisher-Harris had been selected in the Kiwis’ Nines squad this week, and would have been expected to play a big role in their Test against Australia on October 25 plus two matches against Great Britain next month.
