Jake Trbojevic wins top Manly NRL award

Manly lock Jake Trbojevic has won the Sea Eagles’ top honour for the third time in five NRL seasons.

Coach Des Hasler presented Trbojevic with the Roy Bull best-and-fairest award for 2019 at a ceremony on Sunday night at The Star in Sydney. Trbojevic also won in 2015 and 2018.

He joins former Eagles international forward Glenn Stewart (2007, ’08, ’11) as a three-time winner of the gong, named after Manly’s first international player.

Vice-captain Trbojevic also picked up the Gordon Willoughby Medallion for best player as voted by Manly members.

Second-rower Joel Thompson was a popular winner of the players’ player award for the second-consecutive year.

Goalkicking outside back Reuben Garrick capped off a superb season by taking out the Ken Arthurson rookie of the year award, leading try-scorer and point-scorer.

Manly captain and halfback Daly Cherry-Evans took home the Steve Menzies Medal for play of the year for his field goal in the round-19 golden-point win over Melbourne at AAMI Park.
