Sydney Roosters prop Jared Waerea-Hargreaves will miss Saturday night’s NRL qualifying final against Manly after being found guilty of a dangerous contact charge.

Waerea-Hargreaves copped a one-game ban for his forearm to the throat of South Sydney’s Chris McQueen last Friday night, his defence counsel unsuccessfully arguing his actions were not careless.

Waerea-Hargreaves claimed he was bracing for impact in making the hit, with NRL prosecutor Peter Kite adamant he did not show enough care with his actions.
