An impressive 2020 NRL season has been rewarded for Gold Coast centre Brian Kelly with a new contract.
The 24-year-old was one of the most improved players at the Titans under new coach Justin Holbrook last season, winning the Paul Broughton Medal as the club’s best and fairest.
Signed by the Titans on an initial two-year deal in 2018 after securing an early release from Manly, Kelly cemented his way to becoming a first-choice regular for Holbrook.
“He’s shown in particular last season what a strike centre he is, one of the best in the competition,” Holbrook said.
“It is just awesome for myself that BK is staying here and it is great news for all of our fans.”
Kelly’s good 2020 form came despite almost missing the resumption of the season after the COVID shutdown when he and teammate Bryce Cartwright refused to take flu vaccinations.
Kelly eventually agreed to take the jab and was subsequently cleared to play, going on to score six tries in 16 appearances last season.
