Newcastle have suspended prop Zane Tetevano for breaching club policy.
The Knights issued a media release late on Tuesday night stating the NRL club had stood down the 23-year-old but did not elaborate.
“Zane Tetevano has been suspended from all club duties due to breaching club policy, effective immediately,” the club said in a statement.
“The club will review Tetevano’s position internally before making further comment.
“The club will continue to ensure all players are aware of the values and expectations that are required to represent the Newcastle Knights.”
In January, Tetevano was issued with an apprehended violence order after an incident that allegedly left his girlfriend with bruises to her arm, chest and back.
A Newcastle local court judge granted the AVO after an incident at Tetevano’s Mereweather home, however no charges were laid.
Earlier this year, the Knights sacked recruit Russell Packer after he was sentenced to two years’ jail for a drunken assault.
