A foot injury may stop rampant centre Konrad Hurrell from playing in the Warriors’ NRL clash with Brisbane on Friday night.
The bullocking Hurrell limped out of his team’s 32-14 win over Gold Coast on Saturday night after 56 minutes but not before he had helped himself to three tries to keep the Warriors in the playoff hunt.
“It looks like Kon could be struggling to be right for this game,” said Warriors coach Brian McClennan who had likened the 20-year-old to Kiwis great Kevin Iro after Saturday’s match.
“He’s in a moon boot and he’s being assessed. Hopefully he’ll recover quickly but there might not be enough time for this week against Brisbane.”
While Hurrell, who has 12 tries from 12 NRL outings this season to lie third on the tryscoring ladder, may miss the trip to Suncorp Stadium, the club’s record tryscorer Manu Vatuvei is in line to return after knee surgery.
McClennan said the big winger had been “training the house down” two weeks after he was operated on.
