Manly has been heavily backed to beat Cronulla in Friday night’s do-or-die semi-final with Sharks five-eighth Todd Carney expected to miss the match through injury.

“We’ve been inundated with money for the Sea Eagles in the last 24 hours, it looks likely Carney will miss giving Manly a big advantage,” Centrebet’s Michael Felgate said.
“We opened Manly $1.40 favourites and the punters jumped on it, the Sea Eagles are now into $1.34 with the Sharks friendless in betting out to $3.30.”
Punters expect both favourites to win this weekend with Melbourne well backed to beat Newcastle in the other semi-final.
“The Knights looked good on the weekend but punters expect the reigning premiers to bounce back at home. It would be a huge upset for the Storm to be knocked out of the finals in straight-sets,” Felgate said.
Melbourne opened clear favourites at $1.38 and has had some support firming into $1.37 while Newcastle has eased from $3.10 out to $3.15 with the line sitting at -8.5 points.
