Latrell Mitchell says skipping the Sydney Roosters’ World Club Challenge match against Wigan to play for the Indigenous All-Stars was a matter of following his heart.
Mitchell will be the only Roosters player in the Indigenous team which takes on New Zealand Maori at AAMI Park in Melbourne on Friday night, two days before the WCC clash in England.
“I just think I need to start standing up and making my own decisions and doing what’s right for me to get me through my career,” the 21-year-old NSW and Australian star told reporters on Monday.
