NRL season to go on despite virus threat

The NRL will forge ahead with the season despite the coronavirus pandemic with the second round to go ahead as scheduled without crowds next week.

The NRL confirmed on Sunday it would play on with the Warriors based in Kingscliff given New Zealand’s two-week isolation period imposed on international travellers.

“In the interim we will continue round two. At this stage we will play round two and assess the situation,” ARL commission chairman Peter V’landys said.
