The curse will end!
That’s what the betting suggests after last night’s brave effort by New South Wales, with online bookmaker sportsbet firming the Blues from $2.80 to $1.38 to win their first State Of Origin series in almost a decade.
Queensland have drifted from $1.42 to $3.00 to win their ninth series in a row.
With the next game on New South Wales soil, it looks a decent bet that they will wrap it up in game two, with NSW priced at $1.75 to win the second game ahead of Queensland at $2.05.
Despite the result it’s not all bad news for those who backed Queensland, with Sportsbet refunding $388,000 after Queensland lost by less than eight points.
“This is the best position NSW have been in for years to reclaim the Origin, the betting suggests they won’t let it slip!” said sportsbet.com.au’s Shaun Anderson.
