Odds say Penrith Panthers wont win 2014 NRL Grand Final

They may be sitting in 3rd spot on the NRL ladder but Penrith’s premiership chances are out the back door according to online bookmaker sportsbet.

The Panthers have drifted from $14.50 to $21 since being beaten by the Sharks on Saturday and losing key playmaker Peter Wallace for the season.

The Mountain Men were a $13 chance a fortnight ago when five eighth Jamie Soward gave them the kiss of death by declaring them title contenders, however those words have come back to haunt the luckless club, who are now on the 8th line of betting to win the competition.

Despite Penrith’s final 6 games being against teams in the top 10, they’re priced at $1.07 to keep their spot in the top 8, and $7.50 to miss out on the finals.

“The Panthers have done an outstanding job to date but we’re happy to take them on as far as premiership betting is concerned. Wallace is a huge loss plus their draw is horrendous,” said sportsbet.com.au’s Christian Jantzen.
