Ladder-leading Cronulla is smarting from a 42-0 loss to under-strength Penrith that undid much of the good work achieved in excellent wins over Melbourne and Sydney Roosters.
Nicho Hynes missed most of the match and the Sharks looked listless on both sides of the ball, now the linchpin is away on Origin duty, along with inspirational forward Cameron McInnes.
Braydon Trindall has been cleared to play for Cronulla ideal timing with Hynes unavailable and Jack Williams replaces McInnes at lock, while Toby Rudolf is back from injury.
The Sharks have won eight of their last 11 against the Eels, including sole clashes in 2022 (30-26) and 2023 (18-16).
Moses and Gutherson should spark an immediate improvement in the Eels, but its hard to get behind them as a $1.75 favourite given the teams recent dipslays.
The Sharks have a point to prove after last weeks capitulation and will look to grind out a bounce-back but the under shapes as a better play.
