Kiwi hard man Jared Waerea-Hargreaves says the Sydney Roosters are on their way to becoming the dominant forward pack in the NRL.

Fresh from a last gasp Anzac Day loss to St George Illawarra and a big win over a Newcastle side reinforced by the return of former Kangaroo Willie Mason, Waerea-Hargreaves said the Roosters are finally finding some momentum in 2012 after a spluttering start to the season.

“I think we have got a lot to improve on but we have got the capability of becoming a great dominant forward pack,” Waerea-Hargreaves said.

“I feel, as a team, we are going somewhere. We have put two good performances together back-to-back and hopefully we can make it three in a row and go from there.”

The Roosters’ forwards face one of their toughest tests so far this year on Saturday against a monster Warriors pack in Auckland.

On the back of a strong effort up front the Roosters accounted for the Warriors 26-8 in round four in one of their best performances of the season.

But Waerea-Hargreaves said the Warriors were a completely different proposition in Auckland.

“I think it’s the first time this year they have had back-to-back games over there,” he said.

“The Warriors will be pretty confident and they will be pretty keen to put another good win on the board.

“But the confidence is in our team and we are looking forward to it.”
