Sydney Roosters star Latrell Mitchell is facing a one game NRL ban for a crusher tackle in Saturday’s qualifying final win over Cronulla.
Mitchell was on Sunday hit with a grade one dangerous contact charge, which carries a 100-point base penalty.
And while he would normally escape suspension with an early guilty plea, 75 carryover points from a previous charge means he will need to contest it at the NRL judiciary to play in the Roosters’ preliminary final.
