NRL GRAND FINAL PLAYER RATINGS

James Tedesco – The Dally M medallist was largely contained in attack until scoring the match-winning try in the 73rd minute. Ran for 182 metres and made one line break. 8

Daniel Tupou – Made the break down the left wing and then set up the match-winning try for Tedesco. Finished with 165 metres. 8.5

Latrell Mitchell – Missed two penalties and had just 57 run metres but played with plenty of vigour and flicked a pass to Tupou which allowed him to set up the match-winning try. 7

Joseph Manu – Kept quiet and produced just 47 metres from six runs and two tackle busts. 6

Brett Morris – Held his own under the high ball and night and carried well for 127 metres from 16 runs. 8

Luke Keary – The 2018 Clive Churchill medallist didn’t have the same impact on the decider this year. Kicked well and probed the line but not at his dominant best. 6.5

Cooper Cronk – Harshly sin-binned for tackling Josh Papalii without the ball which allowed Canberra to make it 8-8, but was composed when he returned. Finishes his career with a remarkable sixth grand final win. 6.5

Jared Waerea-Hargreaves – Was making up for missing the preliminary final from the opening whistle and ran for 156 metres and made 41 tackles. 9

Sam Verrills – Started ahead of Jake Friend and darted out of dummy-half to score the opener in the sixth minute. Dream debut grand final for the 20-year-old. 7

Isaac Liu – Made three tackle busts in eight carries for 83 metres. Also good for 20 tackles. 7

Boyd Cordner – Got held up over the line in the fourth minute and had five tackle busts in his 132 metres. Made 20 tackles but missed nine. 6.5

Mitchell Aubusson – Left knee injury after 13 minutes. Didn’t return. 5

Victor Radley – Knocked on just minutes after a high shot from Joe Tapine and went off for HIA but returned to finish with 129 metres and 31 tackles. 8

Bench:

Angus Crichton – Made 30 tackles and ran for 49 metres. 7

Nat Butcher – Made 35 tackles and didn’t miss any in a tireless shift. 7.5

Sio Siua Taukeiaho – The best bench player in the grand final finished with 158 metres from 14 carries. Made a strong break through the midfield in the second half. 8.5

Jake Friend – Came on in the 50th minute for his first game in two months and made 23 tackles. 7.5
