Sharks coach rushed to hospital, report

Cronulla NRL coach Shane Flanagan has reportedly undergone emergency surgery for a twisted bowel and will be out of action for the remainder of the week.

A News Limited reports said Flanagan left his office on Tuesday afternoon complaining of stomach pains and was admitted to Sydney’s Sutherland Hospital where surgeons operated on him.

Flanagan’s assistant Peter Sharp will look after the side as they prepare for Sunday’s showdown with the unbeaten Melbourne Storm.
