Slater named to make Storm injury return

Melbourne veteran fullback Billy Slater is on track to answer Queensland’s SOS after being named to make his return from a hamstring injury in Sunday’s NRL clash with Newcastle.

Maroons coach Kevin Walters had been sweating on Slater’s fitness after Queensland lost the State of Origin opener with the veteran sidelined but the 34-year-old has been named to make his return in the Storm No.1 jersey.

The Storm’s backline has been further bolstered by the return of centres Curtis Scott and Will Chambers from suspension while Tim Glasby moves from lock to prop to replace Jesse Bromwich (hamstring).
