Snapshot of round four of the NRL

WHAT HAPPENED IN ROUND FOUR OF THE NRL:

* Quote of the Round: “It’s a dog shot, an absolute cheap shot. It’s so dangerous, someone is going to get really seriously injured.” – Andrew Johns on Tevita Pangai Jnr’s late hit on Cooper Cronk.

* Man of the Round: Manly’s Daly Cherry-Evans stood up when it counted for his side, booting a clutch field goal as his side upset South Sydney 13-12. Despite his side’s patchy start to the year, the No.7 has been a consistent performer for coach Des Hasler.

* Stat that Matters: The Titans are off to the worst start in their history. They are 0-4 for the first time since they came into the competition in 2007. They have also scored 36 points – also their lowest haul through four rounds in club history.

* Magic Moment: Nathan Cleary came into Penrith’s grudge match against the Wests Tigers with all eyes on him and his dad Ivan – and he responded by kicking the winning field goal to break the deadlock in what was an otherwise forgettable game.

* Talking Point: Are we headed for a replay of last year’s grand final? After four rounds, the Sydney Roosters and Melbourne are already the teams to beat.

* Judiciary Watch: Broncos – Tevita Pangai Junior (dangerous contact); Titans – Moeaki Fotuaika (dangerous contact); Panthers – Isaah Yeo (crusher tackle).

* Casualty Ward: Sea Eagles – Tom Trbojevic (hamstring); Sharks – Aaron Woods (foot); Panthers – Frank Winterstein (knee); Bulldogs – Dylan Napa (ankle); Dragons – Korbin Sims (broken arm).

* Under Pressure: After his high-profile move from South Sydney, Brisbane coach Anthony Seibold is under the pump following his side’s 36-4 thumping at the hands of the Sydney Roosters.
