South Sydney Rabbitohs vs Gold Coast Titans 2013 NRL Round 14 preview and tips

The Rabbitohs take this home game to Cairns and will meet the Gold Coast on Sunday with both teams coming off a bye last week and welcoming back their respective Origin stars.

The Rabbitohs have won four of their last five games with the most recent, a solid come-from-behind win over the Newcastle Knights.

The win, their tenth of the season has the Rabbitohs sitting atop of the competition ladder.

Their opponents this week are coming off good wins over Parramatta (42 – 4) and North Queensland (31 – 12) and are fifth on the ladder. The latest win was without the likes of Harrison, Bird, Myles who have all been named in the starting line-up for this week’s clash.

They’ll need the likes of these players if they are to get the better of the South Sydney forwards who have been doing a wonderful job of laying the platform for their backs who have helped the Rabbitohs score more points than any other team in the competition.

Head to head, South have won the last two clashes and of the last three games, only margins of 1 and 4 points of separated the two sides at full time.

Whilst the Titans will find this task a lot harder than the likes of Parramatta and North Queensland, they are capable of giving the Rabbitohs a tough time in their current form.

Expect a close encounter with plenty of points scored.
