Gerard Sutton and Ashley Klein will referee the State of Origin series opener at the MCG next Wednesday night.
Sutton refereed last year’s Origin series, while Klein has been recalled in place of Matt Cecchin who officiated last year’s series and grand final.
“Both the referees have been in excellent form over the opening rounds of the season and will take that form into the opening Origin game,” referees boss Bernard Sutton said.
