Tigers’ Farah hurts knee in Dogs NRL game

Robbie Farah’s NRL farewell tour for the Wests Tigers is in danger after limping from the field with a knee injury against Canterbury.

Farah went down three times in Saturday night’s opening 25 minutes on an injured right knee, as he attempted to soldier on before eventually succumbing.

Farah was initially hurt in the 13th minute when he became tangled in a tackle with Bulldogs half Lachlan Lewis.

He stayed on the ground for more than a minute as medical staff ran out to assess him, but he remained on the ANZ Stadium field.

Battling for power out of dummy-half, Farah sought attention again moments later, as he again went to ground and required strapping.

The 35-year-old was eventually taken from the field in the 24th minute when he again went down as he struggled out of dummy-half.

The former NSW State of Origin hooker has already announced he will retire at the end of the season, with the Tigers still in the hunt to make the finals.

There are only four regular-season rounds left for the Tigers after Saturday’s clash.

His injury came after captain Moses Mbye had earlier been ruled out of the game with a groin injury, limping from the field in the eighth minute.
