Wests Tigers have locked in their replacement for retiring star Robbie Farah with young hooker Jacob Liddle signing a new deal with the NRL club.
The 22-year-old has committed to the Tigers until the end of the 2021 season having already played 36 games for the club.
It means Liddle will almost certainly be promoted to the No.9 jersey next year after Farah hangs up his boots at season’s end.
“I know there’s a big opportunity for me now going forward, but there’s also a big opportunity this year to keep contributing where I can,” Liddle said.
“Our team is in a great position and I want to make sure I keep doing everything I can to help with that.”
Liddle has played nine matches this year for the Tigers, who sit eighth on the ladder heading into Saturday’s clash with Canterbury at ANZ Stadium.
