South Sydney forward Tom Burgess will miss Sunday’s NRL clash with Canberra after copping a one-match shoulder charge ban.
Burgess entered an early plea to the grade one charge on Wednesday.
He risked a two-match suspension if he fought the charge and lost.
Burgess drew the match review panel’s attention for a shoulder charge on Daly Cherry-Evans late in South Sydney’s 20-12 NRL loss to Manly on Monday night.
Meanwhile, Parramatta forward Manu Ma’u will fight a dangerous throw charge at the NRL judiciary on Wednesday night.
He faces a one-match ban for his tackle on Titans playmaker Ash Taylor in last round’s 34-14 loss on the Gold Coast.
He will miss the beleaguered Eels’ derby clash with Wests Tigers on Saturday unless he successfully contests the charge.
