Warriors centre Ngani Laumape is facing a potential five-game NRL ban after being slugged with a grade three dangerous throw charge by the NRL match review committee.
Laumape was charged over a tackle on Brisbane front-rower Josh McGuire in his side’s 19-10 win at Mt Smart Stadium on Saturday.
The 22-year-old will miss three games if he accepts the early guilty plea but will sit out five if he opts to fight the charge at the NRL judiciary on Wednesday and loses.
His Warriors teammate Suaia Matagi has been hit with a grade one charge of dangerous contact on a kicker over a tackle on Broncos playmaker Josh Hoffman.
The prop will be free to face Penrith this Sunday if he pleads guilty to the offence.
Meanwhile Parramatta halfback Chris Sandow escaped any further punishment for dissent towards referee Ben Cummins in Sunday’s loss to Melbourne.
Sandow was sin-binned in the 60th minute when he asked Cummins: “How much are they paying you?” following a penalty against the Eels.
Coach Brad Arthur labelled the offence “trivial” post match.
