If you love a multi, you likely didn’t love Round 3 as the Rabbitohs, Warriors and Tigers all spoiled the party with wins over three of the top eight favourites.

We won’t lie, the book received a fill-up thanks to all three of those results, while several key futures markets have also seen some serious attention.

Performance of the Week

The Rabbitohs were simply sensational from whistle to whistle on Saturday night against the Roosters.

The 10-point margin really doesn’t reflect South Sydney’s dominance as Wayne Bennett’s side spent the better part of 80-minutes flat out bullying their bitter rivals.

The Bunnies bulldozed their way to a try seven minutes in – a nice fill-up for anyone that took Cody Walker @ $3.40 in our Anytime market.

It was all one-way traffic from there as Dane Gagai followed suit before Josh Mansour crossed the line out wide to gift the Bunnies an 18-0 lead heading into the sheds.

As a result, Souths have firmed from $6.00 into the $4.75 behind the Panthers in our Premiership market.

With games against the lowly Bulldogs, Broncos and Tigers over the next three weeks, don’t be surprised if that price receives another trim.

Don’t Argue…

Saturday’s battle in the nation’s capital was easily one of the games of the season as the Warriors fought back from the brink to hand the Raiders a three-point loss in front of their home fans.

Scoring a try in the 69th minute, RTS lead the charge as one of the $2.70 Anytime favourites, but it was his robbery of Jordan Rapana in the final 30 seconds that rightfully earned him all three Dally M votes.

New Zealand was paying $4.75 to win 1-12 on Saturday – a touch overs considering the Warriors tend to play the Raiders tough on the road.

With a game against the Roosters ahead this week, Nathan Brown’s side has firmed from $2.50 into $2.20 To Make the 8.

Punters Pals

  • The Under on Penrith Games: the Total has now gone Under in nine of Penrith’s last 11 games following Thursday’s low-scoring thriller against the Storm.
  • Zac Lomax Anytime @ $2.60: St George’s star centre has now scored in four of his last five matches after crossing the line nice and early during Friday’s win over Manly.

  • Matt Dufty Anytime @ $2.25: likewise, Lomax’s cohort has now scored in 10 of his last 12 games, a huge result for anyone that took the 25-year-old for a double @ $6.50.
  • The Over on Manly Games: here’s one to take note of. The Total has now gone Over in each of Manly’s last seven games.
  • South Sydney as the Home Underdog: a few trend-savvy punters were all over this one on Saturday night. The Bunnies have now won seven of their last 10 games as the home underdog.
  • Josh Mansour Anytime @ $2.40: Mansour has already proven worth his weight in gold since his move to the Bunnies. The star winger has now scored in nine of his last 11 games.

  • James Tedesco Anytime @ $2.15: Teddy managed to keep the Roosters in the game with his try right on the other side of half-time. If you’ve been keeping count, he’s now scored in eight of his last nine games.
  • Warriors as the Line Underdog: the Warriors have now covered in 10 of their last 11 games as the away underdog. If you were smart enough to back the Kiwis at +10.5, good for you.
  • Jamayne Isaako Anytime @ $3.20: easily one of the safest bets of the weekend if you ask us. Isaako has now scored in four of his last five games against the Bulldogs after opening up the scoring in the second half on Saturday.

Don’t Forget About…

Two clear cut choices here.

We start with the Neds Gold Coast Titans, who recorded a soul-crushing 44-8 win over the Cowboys on Sunday night in Townsville.

Our boys were pretty short in betting, but there was enormous value on a double from Alexander Brimson ($6.50) and Corey Thompson ($5.25) to help line your pockets.

The real money, though, was on the Neds Wests Tigers in their huge 24-20 win over the Knights in Newcastle.

Not surprisingly, the book absolutely cleaned up on this result as punters loaded up on the Knights at $1.45 head-to-head.

For those that actually had the cojones to back the Tigers outright, or at the +7.5 line, you have Adam Doueihi to thank.

The star fullback was instrumental scoring a try in the first half as a $5.00 chance, while he also came up clutch with a perfect 4/4 performance in front of the posts.

It’s Getting Hot in Here

Josh Maguire’s post-game comments following Sunday’s loss to the Titans told us all we need to know about the mood in Townsville.

Now 0-3, North Queensland has firmed into $7.50 in our ‘Most Losses’ market – a decent value play after the Broncos picked up their first win over the Bulldogs last week.

With games against the Sharks, Tigers and Bulldogs all coming up over the next month, this is by far one of the most intriguing markets to keep an eye on.

If You’re Not First, You’re Last

Smith Smashes Through

Storm hooker Brandon Smith got the Storm started nice and early on Thursday night when he barged his way over the middle of the Penrith defence to score nine minutes into the Grand Final rematch. The stocky 24-year-old put his head down to salute at $29 in our First Try Scorer market.

Lomax’s Aerial Antics

Lomax’s leaping grab eight minutes into the Dragons’ clash against Manly was the only losing result for the book as far as First Try Scorer’s go. The Saints’ playmaker was a $13 chance in our market before scoring his 21st career try.

The Milestone Man: Addin Fonua-Blake

Fonua-Blake wasted no time making an impact in his 100th game on Saturday.

The Warriors’ prop burst through a gap off a feed from Eliesa Katoa to score the first against the Raiders paying $51.

The big man isn’t a known try-scorer, but he’s already made a huge impact since arriving at the Warriors during the offseason.

Mr. Irrelevant

It’s hard to draw any negatives from the Rabbitohs’ performance, but from a betting perspective, Alex Johnston’s try-less game was a massive letdown for punters that backed him at $2.30 Anytime.

Last year’s leading try scorer had himself a night at the office last time he met the Roosters scoring five tries in the Bunnies’ memorable 60-8 win.

With the Bulldogs up next on Friday night, we’ll happily give him a mulligan though.

Bad Beats

  • Rabbitohs/Roosters Over 42.5 Total Points: stiff if you took the Over on the Rabbitohs/Roosters game on Saturday night. The two sides combined for exactly 42 points, made even worse by the fact Adam Reynolds and Taukeiaho missed conversions.
  • Knights/Tigers Over 44.5 Total Points: same deal here. Sunday’s Total got out to 44.5 before kick-off, only for the two sides to combine for only 44 points. Insert sad emoji.

Futures Forecast

After staging some revenge on the Storm for last year’s Grand Final loss, the Panthers have moved from $5.00 into $4.25 as the Premiership favourites.

The Roosters, meanwhile, have been the biggest movers this week following the disappointment of Saturday night.

The tri-colours were into as short as $6.00 after opening 2-0, but the bookies have wasted no time reacting to their gutless defeat listing them at $10.00 heading into Round 4.

Lastly, the Eels have come in further after improving to 3-0 following their blowout win over the Sharks.

Parramatta fans can now find their side at $10 in from $13.00.

Bloody Good Bets

It was another BIG week of BIG bets here at Neds.

One punter bravely went all-in on the Panthers @ $1.60 on Thursday night, laying down a whopping $35k head-to-head.

On a more sensible note, we also took $45k on the Eels @ $1.30 to polish off the Sharks at Bankwest.

Don’t Tell the Misso

Here’s where things get a little more interesting.

The Storm got out to $2.00 against Penrith without Ryan Papenhuyzen, but that wasn’t enough to stop one bloke from laying $40k on Melbourne head-to-head.

As if that wasn’t putrid enough, we also played host to one of the worst live betting beats in the history of the punt.

With the Rabbitohs seemingly on their way to a comfy win, one punter put $25k down on South Sydney to cover -11.5.

With the Bunnies winning by only 10-points in the end, our thoughts and prayers go out.

Not to be outdone, the absolute cream of the crop: $37k on the Knights -7.5.

Mad Multis

It was a tricky round to navigate, but one punter managed to get this beauty over the line on Saturday’s blockbuster!
