Wests Tigers come into this Campbelltown clash on the back of a pressure-relieving win, while Canberra Raiders are desperate to get back on track after a poor Round 15 loss with another defeat guaranteed to send them plummeting at least as low as 10th on the ladder.
The Tigers halted a nine-match losing streak which culminated in conceding 98 points in their previous two outings with a scrappy 18-10 win over the Titans at Leichhardt.
Api Koroisau in the unfamiliar halfback role Stefano Utoikamanu and two-try centre Justin Olam were standouts.
After a couple of weeks in an unflattering spotlight off the field, Lachie Galvin returns at five-eighth for the Tigers, allowing Koroisau to return to hooker and Tallyn de Silva to move to the bench, where he is joined by Kit Laulilii.
Canberra is seventh but has lost four of their last seven.
Following a gutsy golden point escape away to the Dolphins and a bye in Round 14, the Raiders were flat as a pancake in a bewildering 34-16 loss to the Cowboys at GIO Stadium last Friday.
Zac Woolford comes onto the bench for injured Tom Starling, while Hudson Youngs Origin axing is the Raiders gain.
The Tigers are on an eight-match losing streak against the Raiders, including a 32-12 drubbing in Round 2 this year.
Meanwhile, the Tigers are looking to take down the Green Machine for the first time since 2014 at Campbelltown, where they are on a 10-match losing run against all comers dating back to early-2021 and the Raiders are currently on a three-match winning streak on the road.
Tightening up defensively is priority number one for the Raiders after leaking 20-plus points in eight straight games.
The Tigers have scored more than 18 points just twice in 2024, though, and that lack of strike shapes as the difference between the sides here.
