Wests Tigers are sweating on a win after going down in their last five matches all by margins of eight or more since their highly promising back-to-back upsets of Cronulla and Parramatta.
The Tigers let an 8-0 lead slip in a 22-14 defeat to Canterbury last weekend that was overshadowed by refereeing controversy and flare-ups. While their defensive resolve has improved, the Tigers NRL-low ability to score points (14.9 per game) is impossible to ignore.

Meanwhile, Kalyn Pongas injury has flicked a switch in this Newcastle side, who have produced consecutive gritty upsets of the Dolphins (18-14) and the Warriors (14-8). Both wins were richly deserved and underpinned by stoic defensive effort.
David Armstrong has been a tremendous find at fullback, while Jackson Hastings, Dane Gagai and Jayden Brailey are playing with real authority for a team that won just two of its first seven games.

The Knights are on a four-match winning run against the Tigers, including a gutsy 14-12 result at Leichhardt after having a player sent off in Round 2 last year and a 34-18 cruise at McDonald Jones Stadium in Round 20.
The Tigers four matches at Tamworths Scully Park have garnered one win and three losses; the Knights won the inaugural clash here in 2018 but were thrashed by the Warriors in 2020 in their only other visit.
The Knights are deserving $1.70 favourites on current form, but the under is a huge standout play with none of the Tigers matches producing more than 44 points in 2024 and all but one of the Knights producing 42 points or less.
