The third edition of the Grand Final rematch gets underway on Saturday as the Wildcats hope to extend their winning streak over Melbourne to four.
Perth has rediscovered its winning ways after a slight form slump in late November that has left Trevor Gleeson’s side sitting second on the ladder with a three-game cushion ahead of United.
Melbourne looks locked in for a finals spot from here, but there’s plenty Dean Vickerman’s team needs to improve on.
United are currently averaging the second-fewest assists per-game, meaning Melbourne will need to ensure they spread the ball around this week against a Perth side that is one of the best in the league defensively.
Unfortunately, it mightn’t matter how well Melbourne plays this week as they prepare for a hostile environment in Perth. United hasn’t won out West since January 12 last year, explaining the one-sided market in favour of the Wildcats.
Perth holds a tidy 10-5 record as the line favourite at home over the last 12 months, while they’ve also covered in eight of their 15 games at home to United. All things considered, take the Wildcats to tack on to their record.
