The Hockeyroos have defeated Korea 5-0 in the second game of their four-match series in Perth, turning around the previous day’s loss.
The Hockeyroos got off to a good start on Wednesday with a field goal to Casey Eastham in the fifth minute of the match, coming from a cross from Emily Smith.
Megan Rivers and Georgia Nanscawen both played key offensive roles in the first half, proving a handful for the Korean defenders.
The forward pressure forced a second goal for the Hockeyroos through Georgie Parker in the 35th minute.
Eastham continued her excellent 2012 form with a second goal in the 48th minute.
Minutes later Smith converted a field goal in the 51st minute and Fiona Boyce capitalised on a loose ball in the 56th minute.
Hockeyroos head coach Adam Commens said: “It was a much improved performance on yesterday. We created a lot of chances today and the result was justified.”
Australia A again proved too strong for Korean Club team Korea Telecom, with a 3-1 victory in Wednesday’s curtain raiser at Shenton Park.
Australia and Korea play again on Friday night at Perth Hockey Stadium.
