This Sunday, UFC 298, live in Anaheim California we will get answers to so many unanswered questions.
When will Alexander Volkanovski be conquered in the Featherweight Division?
After seven consecutive cancelled bouts, can Paulo Costa, along with his secret juice conquer one of his toughest opponents in his career?
Will Ian Garry defeat his toughest test to date?
My full preview along with my plays for UFC 298 can be found below.
Alexander Volkanovski vs Ilia Topuria
Tip: Volkanovski via KO/TKO
The Australian hero and in some people eyes, the man who belongs on the $5 note.
Alexander Volkanovski has been making a huge name for himself since being crowned the King of the Featherweights in 2019.
However, his opponent standing across the cage, has been kicking arses and taking names since he arrived to the top promotion in MMA.
From Bryce Mitchell to Josh Emmett, Ilia Topuria is ready for his first title shot.
What will Topuria expect from the future Hall Of Famer?
He’ll fight one of, if not the greatest all round combat artist of all time.
Ilia should expect early punches and the annoying leg kicks from the 35-year-old and boy will this be great to watch.
As a proud Aussie, I don’t believe numbers are required to tell you why I think Volkanovski can win by way of knockout.
He’s a true inspiration, a true champion and a man that will make all Aussies proud.
Robert Whittaker vs Paulo Costa
Tip: Whittaker via Decision
Robert Whittaker, yet another proud Aussie is stepping back into the octagon and he’s facing a man who’s had more cancelled bouts then fights in the UFC by the name of Paulo Costa.
Costa along with the Secret Juice has lost complete momentum since his first loss in his Pro MMA career to Israel Adesanya.
From constant injuries to a good amount of cancelled fights, the luck has not been going the way of Paulo Costa.
Costa has not been since inside of an octagon since August of 2022 and coming up against Whittaker won’t be an easy task for him or his team.
Whittaker was last seen July of 2023 where Dricus Du Plessis knocked him out in the 2nd round.
One thing that’s for sure is that this will be a very entertaining bout in the lead up to the ‘Main Event Of The Evening’.
Geoff Neal vs Ian Garry
Tip: Garry Via KO/TKO
Ian Garry and made a return to the octagon after a setback that lead the Irishman pulling out of his scheduled bout at UFC 296 due to illness.
Garry is undefeated in his Professional Martial Arts career and he’s taking on by far the biggest challenge he’s faced since joining the UFC.
Garry was last seen going toe-to-toe with Neil Magny back in August of 2023, which surprisingly went to the distance.
However, Magny has a bigger test ahead of him as he takes on the number eight ranked welterweight in the world, Geoff Neal.
Neal is no stranger to big fights in the UFC.
From the likes of Belal Muhammad and Mike Perry to Vicente Luque and Shavkat Rakhmonov, he’s fought them all.
I think a returning Ian Garry will show the world that he’s going nowhere.
