The Wolf at Sportsbet has been hard at it doing Olympics form, hunting for winners in sports from archery to weightlifting and everything in between. Here are The Wolf’s Tokyo 2020 tips for Day 8 on Saturday.
Tips brought to you by Sportsbet.
Fencing
BET: Russian Olympic Committee – Women’s Team Sabre – Gold at $1.72
Russia are rightful favourites here and look very hard to beat. They had the two finalists in the individual sabre and are ranked top in the world. They also had another quarter finalist. Hard to envisage them losing.
SWIMMING
Women’s 50m Freestyle – Gold
BET: Emma McKeon at $1.72
The race between the two Australians. It is fair to say Emma McKeon is the best in the race despite Cate Campbell focusing on this event more. McKeon edged out Campbell in the Australian Swimming Trials by 0.01s. Surprised she is not favourite here.
BET: USA – Men’s 4×100 Medley – Gold at $SP.00
The US team look an appetising price in the 4x100m men’s relay at $1.40. They swam the third fastest time of all-time in the heats and the fastest in 13 years. It would take an absolute disaster for them to get beat.
ATHLETICS
Women’s 100m – Gold
BET: Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce at $1.83
Jamaica has won gold in the women’s 100m at the last three Games with Fraser-Price winning in Beijing and London. She ran a 10.63 this year in June in the Jamaican trials and beat her main rival Elaine Thompson-Herah by 0.21s.
BASKETBALL
Line
BET: France at $1.90
Iran opened their campaign with a strong effort to lose by just six against the Czech Republic but the final score flattered with Iran winning the last quarter by 15 with the game done and dusted. They went on to lose by 54 to the US. France beat the US and then went on to smash the Czechs by 20. Should win this by plenty.
Line
BET: Czech Republic at $1.90
The US have been decidedly unimpressive. They lost to France and despite a 54-point win over Iran, allowed them to hang around longer than they should. With Chicago Bulls player Tomas Satoranksy leading this team, they can keep this close enough.
WEIGHTLIFTING
Men’s 81kg – Gold
BET: Antonio Pizzolato at $3.60
The men’s 81kg is a two-horse race. The Chinese lifter Lyu Xiaojun is the best in the world but there is not the difference between him and Antonio Pizzolato to justify this price gap. This year there is just 3kg difference between top lifts.
