The Blues and the Highlanders will lock horns in a match that shapes as a terrific contest, and that will decide who finishes Round 3 in second position.

The Blues opened their Super Rugby Aotearoa account with a convincing win over the Hurricanes in Round 1, and they enter this match with plenty of confidence, and fresh from a week off.

The Highlanders faced a baptism of fire against their South Island rivals the Crusaders in Week 1, and while they weren’t able to get the chocolates, there was a lot to like about their performance.

They followed that up with a tough win over the Chiefs last week, and will surely take further improvement into this contest.

The Blues probably do deserve favouritism at home, but I think that the Highlanders will stick with them the whole way and genuinely represent a winning chance. They can certainly cover a line that is currently set at 6.5 points, as outsiders.
