Any hope the Waratahs had of this being a better than expected season evaporated into the humid air of Suncorp Stadium around 7:15pm local time last Friday night.

Their rough landing in 2021 continues as they now travel to Canberra to face the defending champion Brumbies.

Skipper Jake Gordon, who was one of the few players to provide a real attacking spark in his time on the pitch, is out for up to eight weeks after suffering an ankle injury.
