The Western Force are set to unveil former Wallabies forward Hugh McMeniman as their latest Super Rugby signing on Monday.

McMeniman, who started his career with the Queensland Reds but more recently has been playing with Japanese club Kubota, has a long history of injury issues.

The 28-year-old featured for the Wallabies at the 2007 World Cup, and the Force hope his troublesome shoulders will be able to stand up to the rigours of Super Rugby once again.

The Force, who only narrowly avoided the wooden spoon last season, begin pre-season training on Tuesday under new coach Michael Foley.
