It is something of a surprise that the Reds will go into this clash with the Waratahs as favourites.

The Waratahs have won the past 11 games played between the two sides and the Reds have not beaten their rivals since 2013.

Neither side was particularly impressive during the regular Super Rugby season.

The Waratahs only recorded the one win, when they beat the Lions, while the Reds claimed victories over the Sunwolves and the Bulls.

Suncorp Stadium has generally been a happy hunting ground for the Reds in recent seasons, but it is tough to ignore their poor record against the Waratahs.

I don’t think that there is as much between these two sides as the current market suggests and the Waratahs represent value at their current price.
