Waratahs unchanged for Chiefs

NSW Waratahs coach Michael Cheika has named an unchanged starting line-up for Saturday’s clash with the Chiefs as the Sydneysiders chase their first Super Rugby win in New Zealand since 2010.

The high-flying Waratahs, who sit atop the Australian conference, have won three of their past four matches against reigning champions the Chiefs, but have lost eight straight across the ditch.

The Chiefs are expected to come out swinging in Hamilton after they were humiliated 45-8 by the Hurricanes last weekend.

“Not many people will think we can get it done over there, so we’ve got to make sure that we think we can do it and try and get the job done the best we can,” Cheika said.

A 41-19 away win over Melbourne lifted NSW to second (39 points) overall only behind the Sharks (44) with four rounds to go.

Waratahs:

Israel Folau, Alofa Alofa, Adam Ashley-Cooper, Kurtley Beale, Rob Horne, Bernard Foley, Nick Phipps, Wycliff Palu, Michael Hooper, Dave Dennis (capt), Kane Douglas, Jacques Potgieter, Paddy Ryan, Tatafu Polota Nau, Benn Robinson. Res: Hugh Roach, Jeremy Tilse, Sekope Kepu, Will Skelton, Stephen Hoiles, Brendan McKibbin, Jono Lance, Matt Carraro.
