A scoreless draw with West Brom, and four losses with just three goals scored and nine conceded paint a pretty bleak picture of Burnley’s start to the season. They stymied Tottenham for three-quarters of last week’s encounter at Turf Moor before going down 1-0. The 18th-placed Clarets have a game in hand, but already they look set to be part of the relegation scramble.

Chelsea sit 10th with two wins and three draws from their six games. They followed up their frustrating 3-all draw with Southampton in Week 5 with a scoreless stalemate at Old Trafford last weekend. Frank Lampard’s side thumped Krasnodar 4-0 in midweek Europa League action.

The ledger is all square after 100 games between the clubs. But Burnley have won just one of their last 12 against Chelsea, going down 4-2 at home and 3-0 away last season. Christian Pulisic bagged a hat-trick at Turf Moor last year.

Expect Chelsea to shelve last weekend’s conservative approach and return to the attacking form that garnered 13 goals in the opening five weeks.
