Set to play out what could be a defining fixture in the relegation battle, Everton and Newcastle will be desperate to win when they meet at Goodison Park on Thursday night.

Goal difference alone is keeping the Toffees out of the relegation zone ahead of this fixture, although it’s important to note that they’ve played three fewer matches than 18th-placed Watford.

With that said, it’s difficult to imagine Everton picking up many points from those matches in hand if recent form is to go by.

The Merseysiders have lost eight of their last nine EPL fixtures, including Sunday’s 1-0 defeat against Wolverhampton at this venue.
