It is a bit of a stretch to say that City have been battling in the Premier League lately, but their last few results have not exactly been convincing.

Dating back to mid-September, they have won three and drawn two, with all three victories coming by one goal including a much tighter than expected win over last placed Wolves that required a late goal from John Stones.

If that was not the get-right game they needed, then surely welcoming Southampton to the Etihad will do the trick.

This is a horrifically one-sided rivalry with City last losing a home match between the clubs in April 2004, and in their new era, recording some very big wins including a 4-0 victory last time out.

I’m expecting another big win for Pep Guardiola’s side and maybe even a return to form for the humbled Erling Haaland.
