Newcastle will open as slight underdogs at $2.70 when they host the Roar ($2.50) on Friday night.

They’re both coming off draws but not all draws are equal.

The Roar ended up with a 0-0 draw against top of the table Melbourne City and for that reason I’m backing them to win this one.

The stats are against my thinking in this game however, Brisbane has lost six of its last seven A-League matches as an away favourite and three of Brisbane’s last four A-League Week 14 away matches have resulted in a draw.

While I’m often guided by these stats, I think the Roar can pull through. The Jets have the worst goal difference in the comp and I’m liking Brisbane to sneak a few past them.
