How will season two of the Popovic plan go out west?
After claiming the Premiership and losing the Grand Final on penalties, the Glory will have to deal with their maiden Asian Champions League campaign later in the season, which makes these early season points so vital.
It is also a return to Perth for one time Glory player Robbie Fowler who will manage his first A-League match for Brisbane Roar.
In preseason, the Roar have completely overhauled their squad and there will be a very strong emphasis on defence here as they try and patch a historically bad backine.
In terms of a form line, Perth have never really had much trouble scoring on the Roar, scoring two or more goals in each of their last eight games and four goals in each of the last two meetings.
This one should be a lot closer than last season’s contests but a score draw seems like the play here as the Roar kick off a new era on a strong note.
