Suarez out of Liverpool’s Norway trip

Striker Luis Suarez has been ruled out of Liverpool’s trip to Norway for Wednesday’s friendly with Valerenga due to a foot injury.

Liverpool said on Tuesday the Uruguay international would remain in England “as a precaution following an injury in training” the previous day.

He was due to undergo a scan on his foot later on Tuesday.

Suarez, 26, has been linked with a move away from Liverpool and has been the subject of two unsuccessful bids from Arsenal in recent weeks.

Defenders Daniel Agger, Martin Skrtel and Glen Johnson will also miss the trip to Norway with what the club have described as “knocks”.

Opposition finance spokesman Andrew Robb says while the coalition had no intention of changing the GST in its first term, any potential future changes would be put to Australians at an election.

“Any changes that we might make to taxation that we haven’t announced at this election, any changes would be put to the electorate at a subsequent election,” he told ABC radio in Melbourne.

Mr Robb said a coalition government would commission a white paper on the country’s tax system in its first term of government and recommend potential changes.

“The Abbott government would then prepare a response to that and if there are changes to be made in any area of taxation that would be something that we would put to a subsequent election,” he said.
