World No.1 Ashleigh Barty will travel to North America next week to begin preparations for a tilt at the US Open.
Barty, who claimed her maiden grand slam title at the French Open and rose to the top of the world rankings before Wimbledon, has been holidaying in Brisbane in a bid to recharge ahead of the final grand slam of the year.
In a boost for local officials, the 23-year-old also confirmed her entry for next year’s Brisbane International.
